Veteran Aid & Attendance
At BeeHive Homes of Gulf Breeze, we take great pride in providing personalized and dignified care for all of our residents. Our Hive Owners are veterans of the first Gulf War. We also realize, for many families, the biggest challenge of assisted living care is figuring out how to pay for it. That’s why it’s so important for families to know about all of the benefits eligible to help handle the costs of their loved one’s care.
Is your loved one a wartime veteran or the spouse of a wartime veteran? If so, that may qualify them for additional benefits from the US Department of Veteran Affairs. According to the VA, those who are eligible for this benefit require the “aid and attendance” of another person, meaning they meet one of the following conditions:
- Person requires the aid of another person in order to perform personal functions required in everyday living, such as bathing, feeding, dressing, attending to the wants of nature, adjusting prosthetic devices or protecting yourself from the hazards of your daily environment
- You are bedridden, in that your disability or disabilities requires that you remain in bed apart from any prescribed course of convalescence or treatment
- You are a patient in a nursing home due to mental or physical incapacity
- Your eyesight is limited to a corrected 5/200 visual acuity or less in both eyes; or concentric contraction of the visual field to 5 degrees or less
We recommend that you call us so we can provide an expert VA benefits consultant at no charge to you.
The resident will be responsible for applying for the benefit and the benefit will be paid directly to the resident for use in paying costs for care at BeeHive Homes of Gulf Breeze. We will be glad to help connect the resident with trusted resources that have assisted other residents apply for this benefit. Again, thank you for your interest in BeeHive Homes of Gulf Breeze.
